Sorry. At least now that the weather is getting cooler I won’t have an excuse until next summer :D
Sweat is just your fat crying.
Running in a race and you feel like,
Running not in a race and you feel like,
This is what it looks like the first few
times weeks you try to do pullups.
Also what it looks like when you do pullups at the end of the workout.

Perspective is a really tricky thing. Usually I look at my arms and think, “damn, still so skinny”. Sometimes at the right angles I can see the progress.
As an added bonus, the gym is virtually empty during exams :D
I’ve read that you’re supposed to take a break from any workout routine from time to time. I haven’t established the ideal time between these breaks yet, just that two weeks (like over this past holiday) is way too long and I lose conditioning. One week seems to be about right. It’s been a couple of months since my last break, so I knew I was due for one soon.
I feel like it’s update time.
Apparently I’m going to GenCon! Today! My boyfriend’s brothers go every year. Originally we decided not to go, but thanks to a booking mistake his brothers got a free upgrade to a large suite so it just costs us gas and registration. And this might be the only year we get to go given Brian’s line of work (which makes August a really bad time for vacations).
Indianapolis, Here we come!
And this beard is going to go, soon, I’m thinking it’ll be September 1st since that’ll be two years since I started it. Probably won’t do a clear cut, since I really don’t like the way it looks though I’m always curious to see how all the weight change effects it…
Maybe I’ll just trim the sides and take off an inch at a time so people don’t freak out.
Summer is winding down, so I’m starting the process of bulking up to see if I can speed up muscle gain a bit. (aka, I’m eating real lunches, snacking, idgaf dessert). At my lowest last fall I was dipping below 150, I was only able to get down to 160 for summer (which is OK, I was hoping to get a bit more cut though).
I’d started with an additional 30g of protein a day over a month ago so my daily intake should be over 100g easily. It is hard to get into the mindset of not freaking out as my weight goes up.
On the plus side, it has a 35/1 Protein to Carb ratio, and tastes exactly like melted orange jello. On the minus side, it costs $3 and tastes like melted orange jello.
Not sure that I’ll make a habit of drinking these regularly, but having a couple around in case I forget my normal supplements seems like a good idea.
My workout is about back to the point I was at before going on vacation (for two weeks, and then being sick for a week), my goal is to be up to at least 140 (3 sets of 8 reps) on most machines by the end of the year (hoping for 150) and 15 inches circumference in the biceps.
Still thinking abs would be nice :/ Most days it looks like there is some modest progress in my mid-section but it is a snail’s pace at best.
For a while, I had kicked the calorie counting/weight tracking thing, but that was before I found out about Fit Bit.
Now you can watch me obsess over my fitness in exciting new ways :F
Protein supplements are why I can’t have nice things! That’s like almost a third of my daily intake ._.
Switching out my 5k route (blue) four or fives times a week for an 8k (red) two or three times a week. The goal is to get more focused time in the gym on the remaining days (instead of splitting between cardio and weights like I have been), and maybe give my knee more time to recover between jogs. Soon I should be ready for 10k :D
Not really sure what to do after that… the jump from 10k to a half marathon is huge :/
Can’t wait for Zombies, Run app to come out for Android.
I randomly thought to measure my arms this morning (probably because they are so sore from the workout yesterday) specifically, the bicep which is what I’m hoping to really build up.
… and I gained at least a whole inch in circumference this year :D
Was hoping for more… but I’ll take what I can get. A trainer told me I probably have “fast spasiming” muscles (which is apparently a real thing, that inhibits muscle development, no pervy jokes please).
Shoulder Presses remain the hardest workout :[
I’m getting pretty good at most of the others.
