Magic Knight Rayearth is on hulu and I can’t remember anything about it except that I loved the opening theme.
Is it good? It’s shoujo with action stuff, right?
Does it have a good ending?
If not, what do you recommend to watch? I’m hungry for good, hearty anime right now. Sailor Moon is pretty good, but I want something else.
It’s good in the old Sailor Moon sort of way. There were a couple of seasons of Rayearth, and I can’t particularly recommend the second (though I own it). The first season is fun and ties up nicely. The second season gets a bit weird with bringing in the mecha genre. The visual quality is on par (better than average) for when it was produced.
I honestly would recommend The Twelve Kingdoms (more high-fantasy, not so much magical girl), but if you go beyond the first plot arc, there is no clean resolution to the story at the end of arcs two through four… they just kind of run head long into each other until the last one ends. Each plot arc is pretty well self contained, but they don’t really lend a sense of completion to the series overall.
